On Saturday the 29th of June, newly minted president Chris attended the District Changeover night along with past-president Denise. The event was held at the Perth Surf Lifesaving Club on City Beach. Over 90 people were there from all over the state to celebrate the first year of the new District 9423, combining all clubs from WA. Outgoing District Governer Ineke Oliver gave a presentation on all the events from the past year, as well as awards to individuals that she wanted to honour.
Ineke then handed over control to District Governor-Elect Pat Schraven, whom was our previous District Governor of 9465 before the merger. Pat is looking forward to the year ahead, particularly with the Community Groups development through the Regionalisation Pilot.
Chris & Denise spent time talking with President Anthony & Amy from the Armadale Club, as well as President Paul Jones from the Gosnells Club, Joint President Alison Dalziel from the new Maylands Club and Steve Weychan from Rotary Canning River.
It was a great evening to celebrate the growth of the district, acknowledging achievements and welcoming the new board members for the district.
